I’m a bit stiff after a long night’s sleep due to the thin pillow and the hard matrass. Furthermore, I am 51 years old and have noticed lately that I can’t put my big toe into my moth as easily as I used to do. Yes, I should do some exercise I guess. Then a thought popped into my mind this morning when I realized that today will be another day without sun: sun salutations, yoga exercise, which goes together with my latest finished object.
I picked a ball of Cherry Tree Hill Merino yarn from a travelling box a while ago because I instantly fell in love with the colour, which is called cottage fever. I always thought that I would knit a pair of socks one day. However, I have been knitting socks since last fall. The last pair had come off the needles the day before we left for Leukerbad. So I was a bit bored about the thought of knitting just another pair of socks due to the lack of a catchy idea what to knit on the train. Luckily, I remembered having seen yoga socks on someone’s blog. Blogland is full of great ideas, isn’t it?
Man nahm heraus, was einem gefiel und legte etwas Gleichwertiges hinein, was anderen gefallen könnte.
I’m very pleased how the yoga socks turned out. I casted on 64 stitches, decreased 4 (2 at a time) before the bind off (26 stiches) for the nonexisting heel. I casted on 38 stitches and decreased 12 (two at a time) until I had 60 stitches. You can see that there are decreses on the second picture. And you can also see how long I made the socks. At the edges I did 2k , 2p in order to keep the edges straight.
Here my ultimate advice: Never miss an fo-Friday. It sure gives you like me a lot of ideas what to do next.
And yes, the socks are made from stash. They are my finished project number 6.

It is a gorgeous colour. I’m 50 and I’ve noticed how much daily yoga helps. I do hot yoga though … no need for socks there!
