T in die neue Woche – A new Week

Mit diesem Bild starte ich in die neue Woche. Heute im Sonnenschein ist die Vogelwelt sehr aktiv. Schon bald wird sich hinter dieser kleinen Tür neues Leben regen.

I want to start into the new week with a sign of hope. Considering the activities of bird life around the house in the sunshine, it won’t take long until new life is born behind this door.

Es hat nicht lange gedauert, bis nach den Schneemassen die Vögel zum Frühlingsgesang angesetzt haben. Heute auf Nachbars baum eine Amsel. Aber das Vogelhäuschen passt für sie nicht, der Einschlupf ist zu klein.

This blackbird was singing this early morning on our neighbour’s birch tree. I wonder where it will find a place to nest. Actually, not in my birdhouse because its door is to narrow.

Holunder am Wochenende – Elderberry Weekend

Guten Morgen!           Good Morning!

Schaue ich vom Balkon in unseren Garten, den Hostet (die Obstwiese) und die Landschaft, sehe ich unzählige Holunderbüsche, ja Bäume, die noch in voller Blüte sind. Es sieht wunderschön aus, besonders wenn die Sonne lacht und die Nachbarschaft das Wochenende mit Ausschlafen startet. Diese Ruhe ist einfach herrlich.

Übrigens ist Caruso, die Prima Donna, wieder da: Unsere Hausamsel, die zwischenzeitlich wohl an den Waldrand gezügelt ist, trällert ihr Morgen-, Mittags- und Abendlied auf dem höchsten Birnbaum unseres bescheidenen Anwesens. Ich glaube, Caruso unterhält sich mit Herrn Buchfink, der, obwohl schon Mitte Juni ist, ebenso unermüdlich pfeift.

Caruso, the blackbird is back. He sings beautifully each morning, noon and evening on the highest pear tree in our orchard. I think he talks to Mr. Finch, who is also a very eager and loud singer. 

As the humans seem to be still asleep (except me), I’m enjoying listening to the early morning sounds, looking around from the balcony and drinking a coffee. Very soothing and the perfect start into the weekend.

Our garden and the fields and meadows are full of elderberry bushes in full bloom. Now that the rain has stopped for a day, their fragrance is wonderful. I must take some into the house. It’s my Sunday pleasure.
