Samstags mit Brombeeren – Black Berries in Abundance

Später am Abend habe ich mich entschieden, lieber Brombeeren zu ernten als den Rasen zu mähen. Eine gute Entscheidung, denn es waren über den Tag wieder so viele reif geworden. Nun gibt es Brombeeren zum Zmorge, zum Zmittag , zum Zobed und zum Znacht. Immer nur Brombeeren. 🙂

There are so many black berries this year. I’ve frozen them and made jam already because we cannot eat them all. Nontheless, I’m enjoying them as a side dish to my early morning coffee.

Die erste Arbeitswoche nach den langen Ferien ist vorbei. Huff, so schön, dass heute nichts auf dem Programm steht. Der Einstieg war gäch! Neue Schülerinnen, neue Klassen, andere Schulzimmer, neuer Stundenplan. Von wegen: „Wann warst eigentlich du das letzte Mal ausserhalb deiner Komfortzone?“

Nach dem Gewitter von gestern Abend, zeigen sich schon wieder die ersten blauen Flecken am Himmel.

Crocheting the pompom edge was like dessert.

Weil ich mich nicht entscheiden konnte, welche Farben für die Pompoms zu nehmen, habe ich alle Farben genommen.

Ich gönne mir eine Erholungspause, bevor ich mich an ein neues grösseres Projekt wage.

Now I need a break before I start anything big again. 🙂 

Sommerhäkelei – Abkürzung – Shortcut

Ich habe beschlossen, dass meine Mandaladecke fertig ist. Die gelben Sonnenhalbkreise sahen perfekt aus, so dass es irgendwie keinen Sinn mehr macht, noch ein paar Runden, noch mehr Farben und hunderte von Gramm Wolle anzufügen. Ich gebe zu, es ist mir verleidet, alson habe ich eine Abkürzung genommen.  Mir bleibt noch, in aller Ruhe hunderte von Pompoms anzuhäkeln. Auch diese Freiheit nehme ich mir.

I’ve decided to take a shortcut on the blanket. I liked the yellow half circles just the way they were. It didn’t make sense to add more and more rounds, colours and yarn as the blanket is big, colourful and heavy already. I’m crocheting pompoms for the edge also not following the pattern.

Mandala Madness – 320 fM, 208 hRHSt, 560 St – 320 sc, 208 bphdc, 560 dc

 

Nachschub war nötig, damit ich Teil 16 fertig häkeln konnte und für Teil 17 gerüstet bin.

I had to buy more yarn to finish part 16 and start part 17, which is still in the same sunny colours. 

Die letzte Runde von Teil 17 besteht aus 320 festen Maschen, 208 „hintenrum“ Halbstäbchen und 560 Stäbchen. Das schluckt echt ziemlich viel Wolle. 🙂 Ich bin nicht sicher, ob ich überhaupt angefangen hätte, wenn ich gewusst hätte, wie lang diese Mandala Madness „Wanderung“ dauert und wie streng sie ist. Bald soll die Decke fertig sein.

Last Round consists of 320 single crochets, 208 backpost halfdouble crochets and 560 double crochets. That needs quite some yarn. 🙂 I don’t know whether I had started the mandalamadness blanket knowing how many hours would take and how hard would be.  

Lorbeerkranz – Laurel Wreath

So lange kann es nun nicht mehr dauern, bis ich fertig bin mit der Mandaladecke. Immerhin verdiene ich mir mit Teil 15 grad einen Lorbeerkranz, wie Helen Shrimpton sagt. Seht ihr die Lorbeerblätter? Sie sind in hellgrün eingebettet, bis dann in Teil 16 die Sonne aufgeht. Ich bin gespannt.

It won’t take that long until I finish the mandala blanket. I’m crocheting part 15 at the moment, the laurel wreath as Helen Shrimpton calls the green leaves. Can you see them? After two more rounds the sun will go up. I can’t wait to see that happen. 🙂

Ich bin ein bisschen im Verzug, aber zwei Runden pro Tag sind genug, braucht es doch jetzt mehr als eine Stunde bis ich einmal rundherum bin. Hoffentlich bin ich am Wochenende wieder auf Kurs.

I’m a bit behind, but two rounds a day are more than enough. It takes an hour per round if the pattern is not too complicated. Hopefully I will catch up soon. 

Und so sah es nach Teil 14 aus. Schön bunt, was?

Endlich rosa – Finally Pink

Gerne würde ich ja endlich ein paar Runden rosa häkeln, aber die Farbe passt einfach nicht. Pink zu gelb-orange geht nicht. Dann schon lieber Blautöne mit violett. Zuerst musste ich aber nochmals ins Wollgeschäft, weil das orange ganz knapp nicht gereicht hatte.

When will it be time for pink I like so much? I would love to use it eventuelly. However, it doesn’t match orange-yellow. I chose blues instead and have to wait an other week. But fristly, I had to go to the yarn store because I ran out of orange shortly before the end of the row. 

Das Mandala hat bereits einen Durchmesser von geschätzt 80 cm. Bis ich einmal rundherum bin, dauert es immer länger. Auch reichen 50 Gramm Wolle gerade mal für drei Runden. Die Doppelstäbchenbüschel, die Fächer und die tiefer gestochenen Maschen brauchen Material.

Natürlich nimmt es mich schampar wunder, wie das Ganze am Schluss aussieht. Wir die Decke quadratisch, der Stern aufgehoben? Kommen aussenrum quadratische Blöcke dran? Gibt es einen dicken Rand? Nach Teil 6 hiess es, ein Drittel sei geschafft. Ob mein Material reicht? Ob ich am Ende von wenigen Farben ganz viel brauchen werde? Ich bin gespannt. Obwohl es nicht ganz einfach ist, im Dunkeln gelassen zu werden, macht der mandalamadnesscal Spass.

The mandala measures about 80 cm in diametre. I need quite some time to crochet one row. A ball of 50 gramms may be sufficient for three row as trebbles, clusters, bobbles eat up a lot of yarn. 

I’m wondering how the pattern will develop. When part 6 was finished, it was said that now a third had been completed. Will the blanked be a quater, will there be rounds or blocks around the flowery mandala? Will I need much yarn of few colours or little yarn of many? Although it is a bit difficult to be in the dark, I like the mandalamadnesscal. 

Hier also Teil 8 im Entstehen. Ich hatte drei Violetttöne zur Auswahl (alles Reste), und habe mich für dieses entschieden, weil es einen Blaustich hat und sich besser mit den zwei anderen Farben, hellblau und lila, mischt. Nach der hellblauen Runde mit den 5- und 7fachen Stäbchen, gibts nochmals eine hellblaue. Und dann passt wohl endlich rosa.

Here is part 8. I could choose from three different shades of violet, all left overs. I’ve taken this one because it melts with the light blue and purple. After the light blue with the long stitches down, there is an other round of the same colour. Finally, there will be pink! 

 

This very Afternoon – Heute Nachmittag

Heute Nachmittag war mir nicht nach Gartenarbeit. Viel lieber habe ich mich mit meinen Wollresten verlustiert. Lieber ein bisschen häkeln.

It’s mandala time rather than working in the garden. I love my leftover yarns.  I love crochet. 

Mandala Madness Teil 1 / Part 1

Vielleicht häkle ich morgen Teil 2, vielleicht mache ich auch etwas anderes Kleines, Hezriges, das schnell fertig ist.
