Sommerhäkelei – Abkürzung – Shortcut

Ich habe beschlossen, dass meine Mandaladecke fertig ist. Die gelben Sonnenhalbkreise sahen perfekt aus, so dass es irgendwie keinen Sinn mehr macht, noch ein paar Runden, noch mehr Farben und hunderte von Gramm Wolle anzufügen. Ich gebe zu, es ist mir verleidet, alson habe ich eine Abkürzung genommen.  Mir bleibt noch, in aller Ruhe hunderte von Pompoms anzuhäkeln. Auch diese Freiheit nehme ich mir.

I’ve decided to take a shortcut on the blanket. I liked the yellow half circles just the way they were. It didn’t make sense to add more and more rounds, colours and yarn as the blanket is big, colourful and heavy already. I’m crocheting pompoms for the edge also not following the pattern.

Im Sommer am wärmsten – The warmest in Summer

Sommer  – Summer

Meine Mutter erzählt, dass ihr Bruder als Jugendlicher im Sommer gerne schwarze wollene Pullover trug mit der Begründung, nie gebe ein solches Kleidungsstück wärmer.

Nie wird meine Mandaladecke wärmer geben als jetzt, da ich im Schaukelstuhl sitze und Runde Nr. 103 häkle. Aber es zeigt sich schon die Mörgenröte, die Sonne geht auf. Wenn ich euch also das nächste Mal von meinem bunten Werk berichte, ist sie fertig. Ich kanns kaum erwarten!

Im Moment sind wir aber vorallem damit beschäftigt, ein Marder sicheres Gehege für unsere Hühner aufzubauen. Wenn alles planmässig läuft (was es ja erfahrungsgemäss nie tut), sind wir am Freitag fertig damit. Dann dürfen die Ladies einziehen.

My mother tells about her brother who used to wear a black woolen sweater during hot summer month. He said it would never be warmer to wear. 

Never will my mandala blanket be warmer than today when I’m crocheting round 103. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. When I show the blanket next time, it will be finished. I’m really looking forward to this moment! 

Most of the time we are building a enclosure for the chickens that they will be secure from fox and marten. If everything goes as planned, we will be finished on Friday. Then the ladies can move in.

Yesterday we went on a boat ride with friends including sunset. It was a fantastic afternoon and evening. Thanks very much!

Mandala – Ringelreihe – Round after Round

So langsam gnüägelets (habe ich genug). Das dauert ja eeeeewig, bis eine Runde fertig ist, nichts mit husch husch.

Zum Glück war in Teil 9 endlich mal wieder pink dabei! Ein winziges Knäuelchen ist nach zwei Runden übrig geblieben, meine Sorge, dass ich noch einsetzen müsste, unbegründet.

It takes so long until a round is finished. Two rounds of pink used up 50 gramms of yarn. There was only a tiny ball left and I was affraid I would have to join shortly before the end of the row. That was when I started to crochet faster. Hihihi! 

Nach dem pinken Runden mit Dreifachstäbchen wellt die Decke ein bisschen. Das sei alles Teil des Designs, werde ich beruhigt. Abwarten also, wie sich die Decke weiterentwickelt. Ich habe mich entschieden, zur Beruhigung des Farbenmeers ein bisschen weiss einzulegen.

The blanket has gotten a bit wobbly, but this is due to the design and sould work out fine as I’ve been told. Stay cool, Regula! I’ve been thinking that white would calm down the pattern a bit. Still I don’t know how and how long I will be crocheting … I’m longing for the end …. Sigh!

Im Moment häkle ich Teil 10 zweifarbig. Ich hoffe, dass ich die sieben Runden, Hausaufgabe bis Freitag, tatsächlich schaffe, damit ich wieder voll im Zeitplan bin. Da es heute regnet, die Haushaltspflicht (in der Scheune Untersicht und Gebälk entstauben und alles schön sauber wischen) erledigt ist, sollte einem gemütlichen Häkelplausch jedoch nichts im Weg stehen.

I’m in part 10 now, crocheting with two colours. I hope that I can finish seven rounds until Friday (when part 11 is due), because I don’t like to be left behind. As the weather is rather wet today, I can’t see why I shouldn’t enjoy some happy hours of crocheting this afternoon. The only company I have are the two cats snoring on the sofa next to me. Yes, they snore like humans.
