Officially, Sarah’s KAL starts on March 15 but I couldn’t resist trying out the pattern and casting on. This lovely shawl called Miss Winkle didn’t seem to be as simple as the designer, Martina Behm, sais. This is what she writes about it: „One of my favorite sitcoms is “The Big Bang Theory“. In one episode, nerdy physicist Leonard dates his colleague Leslie Winkle and they have a fierce argument about which version of Quantum Mechanics is correct – String Theory or Loop Quantum Gravity. When Leonard declares that he prefers his space “stringy, not loopy“, that’s a dealbreaker for Leslie (”How will we raise the children?“). This very loopy shawlette is here to celebrate Miss Winkle, women scientists and all women who know what they want and don’t let any man talk them out of it!“
Although there is some sock yarn in my stash, I wanted to knit the shawl in pink (Look at the lovely bunch of tulips I’ve got for my birthday). You wouldn’t believe but I love pink. Therefore I treated myself to a visit at my favourite yarn store „Wollring“ in Weinfelden. 🙂 While having a hot chocolate and a sandwich befor a meeting, I was winding the yarn into a ball as a start. Nobody was giving attention to me. 🙂
Unfortunatelly, there won’t be much time for knitting today (As I said the kal starts on Saturday). I’m off to school and later to the store. You can find me in Bischofszell this afternoon.
Have a nice day!
Beautiful birthday flowers, Happy Birthday my friend. Love the yarn it is going to be great fun to work with.
Hugs,
Meredith

herzlichste grüße & wünsche an dich 😉

Hahahah I love that show! I’ve seen that episode a couple times.
Nein, du bist volle Kanne Flower Power! Find ich schön. 🙂
Happy birthday! Lovely tulips, I love Spring flowers, they make me smile every time I see them 🙂
The KAL yarn you’ve chosen looks wonderful, I’m looking forward to following the KAL although I won’t be joining in this time
Oh yes, it’s nice to see some colours after the grey season. I haven’t joined in a kal for a long time. Miss Winkle is really lovely.
And a bit late, but Happy B-Day:)
Thank you!
That is some beautiful yarn! Enjoy the Spring weather, it is lovely here in Holland too:)
I’ve heard that! I have a friend from the Netherlands (has lived here for 28 years). 😉
Hope you had a wonderful birthday! The pink yarn is lovely and the scarf pattern too. Have a great day.
Life is good at the moment … 🙂
Love the colour of the yarn and such beautiful pictures to start the day 🙂
