Der Januar war ein richtiger Wintermonat. Plötzlich wurde es kalt, sehr kalt, und die Temperaturen unter Null halten an. Jeden Morgen hoffte ich, dass meine Autobatterie noch genügend Pfuus hätte, damit der Motor ansprang. War ich unterwegs, hoffte ich mehr als sonst, am Ziel gesund und wohlbehalten anzukommen, obwohl ich eine Wolldecke und zwei zusätzliche Jacken mit mir herumführe.
January 2017 was a hard one due to icy temperatures and lots of days with fog. I’d rather stayed home all the time because I didn’t trust the battery of my car. What would I do, if the car didn’t start? I hoped to get home safe and sound whenever I was on the road.
Es mag am Winter liegen, dass ich den ersten Monat des Jahres als streng empfunden habe. Umso glücklicher bin, dass wir eine Woche Ferien geniessen dürfen. Immerhin sind die Tage schon merklich länger, was ich besonders am Abend geniesse.
I’ve put a few pictures together to show you my January. We spent some days in France after New Year, I try to eat lots of vegetables for vitamins and minerals. I did some knitting (for a friend) and decorating (in school).
I’m glad we can enjoy a week off school. It’s winter break and everybody goes skiing, except me. I’m staying home keeping the fire going. 🙂

Our January was very icy, and we too had some fog which was rather unusual for us. Now it’s getting cold again and the snow is back, which makes me happy. Winter should be snowy. 🙂
I like Tools in general and the hammer too, reminds me of my grandfather, my roots. I gave one to „my shoemaker“, who’s house burnt down in December. He is opening a new workplace in a few days. I hope the hammer has helped him making this decision. 🙂 Can’t wait to visit him behind piles of shoes he mends (recycling and saving money also). Have a snowy winter! Regula
